Well, I embarked on improving and extending my home in 2006 and 2007 as I can't afford to move up the ladder as the incremental amount to gain another bedroom is about £150k where I live.

So I decided to build a loft conversion - completed Nov 07.

With the looming credit crunch, I have yet to buy a bed ! For 5 months, I slept on the sofa and recently, I have been sleeping on a temporary bed in the spare room as I am cautious about splashing out on a bed just in case - for now !

Hopefully, I will be able to afford a bed if I win the £500 prize !
